The business was started in 2006 by Pieter Venter as a sole proprietary.

I liked working with people and helping them in their businesses. Starting a business with no clients was a risk, but I had the idea that I could make a change. The business started slowly but always grew and evolved. Advertising and word of mouth helped to build relationship with clients from different industries.

In 2008 the business was changed into 2 Closed Corporations, each with its own focus areas. The one Closed Corporation is Godolphin Consulting which focuses on individuals and accounting. Proximal Capital Managment is the other and focuses on businesses and management services.

In 2009 Hannes Venter resigned from his job as an accountant at an accounting practice and joined Proximal. He has brought his interest in IT to the business and helped in upgrading the business infrastructure. He also helped set up the payroll department.

We are very excited to be moving into our own offices in April 2012. This will help us to take our business to a new level where we can meet with clients at our own premises. The premises will also display our professional image and is an important step in building the brand of Proximal.
